The Christmas Stress

November 16th, 2009 § 0

Both my favorite and least favorite time of the year. I love the wintry decor, the smells of spiced food and drink, mittens, boots, christmas lights, cable knits, the whole nine.

What I do not love is finding the perfect Christmas (party) dress. Some may say, what about the beautiful dress you wore last year…??

But oh, my my my…. Last year’s dress is the most wildly inappropriate attire for a once-year event! It is- literally – the last thing you and your kin saw me in.  This year must not only be much much different, but it’s gotta be much much better. Beautiful-ier. It’s gotta top the fuckin’ tree, if you know what I mean.  And each year I wait until the last minute, almost ruining the entire holiday season for the entire Denver Metro Area.

It is not easy. It is not fun. It is not jolly.

It is excruciating.

That’s why I am trying to get this did and done before the page even turns to December.

Here are some contenders for this year’s Christmas Stress Dress:

Ok, so there are only two so far. But I will also be channeling radioactive amounts of energy to the Thrift Store Gods that perhaps a gorgeous vintage piece will find its way into my life before then- saving Christmas for the population of Colorado.
