Watermelon Sugar
March 31st, 2010 § 2
Boy, this morning was a tough one. I just could not get it together for the life of me.
At least I had a loud necklace to save me from my fail-safe, über neutral, black-, tan-, and grey-wearing ways.
I’m ready to go home and eat an obscene amount of BBQ beef tips.
It’s gonna be ridiculous.
Bandolino flats: Thrifted
(If I haven’t mentioned it yet, these are awesome.)
Black skinnies: No idea
(These may be one of the oldest (to me) things in my closet. They have not one functioning belt loop.)
Tee: Target
Cardigan: Thrifted Target
Necklace: Thrifted
(I think some one made it. Well, I think someone put some beads on a bandana and then donated it to the thrift store.)
Man, that BBQ sounds delicious.

Oh, Weardrobe!
I didn’t know!
Your email alerts never reach me!
So, here I’ve sat- sad and lonely.
Unbeknownst to me, I have been featured twice!
This is so exciting.
I’d like to thank the Academy

Radio says a high of 78 today.
So I’ma gonna show some leg.
Bottom Up:
Shoes: Seychelles
(Schoolgirl?) Skort: Thrifted
Blue Belt: Thrifted
Pink Long Sleeve: Target
Oscar de la Renta Scarf: Thrifted
It’s 65 now, let’s see what happens.
Those cats were fast as lightning

Shoes: Target
Tights: Urban Outfitters
Royal Blue skirt: Thrifted
(Found at the Goodwill. It’s quite charming, but isn’t lined so it stuck to my tights in awkward places all day. Yuck.)
Tee: Charlotte Russe
(A rare good find.)
Necklace: Thrifted
Coat: Thrifted
Bag: Thrifted
(This bag is magical. Kind of in a creepy way.)
And off to brunch we went!
We went to our friends’ house.
This is their new little guy, Griffey.
So, off we went to Vita. It’s in LoHi and this is the view from their rooftop.
And then I broke the law.
And that, my friends, was Sunday.
A cute little lumber

Kind of a schlub day all around. We had errands to run and cupcakes to eat, and then we drove around the poor side of town.
So welcome back baby to the poor side of town.
Thanks, Johnny! Onto the breakdown!
Bottom Up:
Shoes: Thrifted
(The Salvation Army I got these from just closed down. It was downright disgusting filthy, but it’s still a little bit sad. And, I’m pretty sure these are 100% plastic. Even the laces. Also, there is an excellent chance that these shoes were also marketed for their corrective properties. Oh, and you can’t see in the photos, but they have heart-shaped hole punches all over them.)
Trousers: Thrifted
(Indeed, these are the best. trousers. ever. And- they don’t itch, they don’t trap heat, and they laugh in the face of dripped coffee. They are supertrousers. Which also means they can be worn numerous times over the course of several weeks without shame or question.)
Belt: Thrifted
(ARC find. Eddie Bauer.)
Shirt: Rodarte for Target
(This shirt and these trousers have fallen in love.)
So.
First on our list of adventures was the hardwood store.
And it was just as erotic as it sounds.
But seriously- isn’t that Zebra Wood gorgeous?!!!
Yeah, our new dining room table thinks so, too.
All that wood was very overwhelming.
So we had to go to the thrift store.
That, too (being a Saturday) was very overwhelming.
So we had to drive around and look at things.
Like this house.
Which also looks like a pair of our friend Brian’s shoes.
(apparently, they’re on sale)
Then, this guy barked us on our way.
So we found ourselves a place with friendlier animals.
AND THEN WE HAD CUPCAKES!
My Lemon Lavender.
His Elvis: banana bread with peanut butter frosting and chocolate chips and dried banana slices. Yow.
They come from here:
And they really make for a happy Saturday.
One out of one boyfriends agree.
And that’s 100%.
