Year of the Rooster

March 26th, 2010 § 1

Mother of Mary, it’s Friday.

I am thrilled to be concluding, this, the longest week in History.

Bottom Up:

Sam Edelman Zoe’s: Gift

(Thank you)

Shiny Zebra leggings: Forever21

(Yeah, I fell for the trend.)

Chinese blouse: Thrifted

(I always feel weird about this. Like, it’s too 90′s or something? I don’t know, but I committed this morning.)

Carson Pirie Scott Co. Fur: Thrifted

And after having just watched Where the Wild Things Are (fucking finally), I realized that I have a famous doppelganger.

And his name is Douglas.

So, chew on that this weekend.

(A great ARC find in action.)

Striped long sleeve: Rodarte for Target

(Thanks Mulleavys.)

Belt: Thrifted

I’m playing a bit of catch-up, so please forgive me.

This was yesterday, which was Tuesday.

Onwards:

Bottom Up:

Shoes: Payless

Trousers: Thrifted

(These are the perfect shade of peachy-nude. I thrifted them this weekend and I’m in love. I did well at Goodwill and you will definitely see more of my loot soon.)

Belt: Thrifted

(Yup, this came from the Goodwill, too. It was a bit of a shock because this Goodwill is super picked over because it’s in the middle of Hipsterville. Even better.)

Long sleeve: Thrifted GAP

And don’t be fooled by my easy, breezy, peachy keeny. It snowed by like 4pm and was ridiculous until about Noon today.

Don’t worry. You’ll see.

So Monday was kind of a strange one.

This is definitely a stretch from my normal wardrobe ways, but I found this (raw silk??) dress at Goodwill and I had to have it. It’s too big for me, but that’s easily hidden. The slip I had to wear with it was a whole other story that I am thoroughly over.

It felt nice though. It was technically the first of day of Spring-ish, and I felt great.

Soft, flowing, whiteness was a lovely way to ring in the Spring.

Bottom Up:

Shoes: Seychelles via endless

Dress: Thrifted

(Yup. Goodwill last weekend.)

Belt: Thrifted

(Last weekend as well. And, I think… worn every single day this week so far. Way to earn your keep, belt!)

Necklace: Gift

Cardigan: TJMAXX

Vest: Thrifted

(Yes, last weekend, too! Crazy, right? Even though I took it off in the car on the way to work, it will have its face time.)

So, happy Spring to you and you and you.

And you, too.

This was Sunday. Today is Snowday.

March 24th, 2010 § 0

Unlike today’s ridiculous Spring snow, Sunday was marvelous. It was the first time I busted out the floppy hat all year. And, I got to wear my new shoes.

We went to the Tap House downtown and had a beverage while they fried us obscene amounts chicken wings.

We were really excited that they got the Maharaja back in.

Bottom Up:

Shoes: Seychelles via endless.com

(Um, Seychelles are the best freaking shoes ever. I only own two pairs, but they are seriously the best lookin’, most comfortable two pairs of shoes in my closet. And they’re both heels. And, I will say that this was my first ever endless purchase, and it was awesome.)

Jeans: Forever21

Belt: Thrifted

Blouse: Thrifted Anne Klein

(Like the Calvin shirt of this nature, it may be a maternity shirt. It’s also polka dotted. Can you see that in the photos?)

Floppy hat: Thrifted

(Boy, do I love this hat. And boy, do I love my ARC)

Boyfriend: Thrifted

(Kind of, right? Aren’t we all a bit thrifted?)

O& this guy was there, too:

And that my friends, was Sunday.
