Everybody here is out of sight

On our way to brunch with friends and Wii and mimosas and lots of goodness. Wish us luck- we’re late!!

Anyone a 5.5?

Garbagetown, USA

Let’s all have a time out and reflect on how absolutely awful and ridiculous the first week of March was.

Much better. Moving on.

Well, in all honestly- how can I move on? I haven’t even told you about how I got to get up super duper early and take this guy to the airport. This is typically not an event that would drive one to tears. HOWEVER. As it is The First Week of March, terrible things were destined to happen.

Such as:

1. Beginning last night with a multi-hour search for Ryan’s wallet. It was in the car.
2. Getting up early because I’m a crankypants
3. Running late (per usual)
4. Saying good-bye (awww!)
5. Then heading to work and realizing:
6. Past E on gas
7. No smokes
8. $6 only
9. Fuck! This is the wrong exit!
10. Trying to get back on the road going the correct way
11. Having to drive ALL THE WAY BACK TO THE AIRPORT (which, for those of you not in my ‘hood, is one big stretch of nothing for a whhhhile)
12. Spilling coffee on my (silk) blouse
13. Finally getting home to get a few things, and in turn really offending Duncan somehow- so much so, that he bit my hand bloody on the way out the door (dick).

All in all, I guess it worked itself out. And here I am, days end, sharing it with you.

So I obviously made it through.

But, I will say- that since today is (casual) Friday, I am going to be really lax and groovy and not breakdown today’s outfit. Maybe next Friday, maybe no Fridays.

Certainly not this Friday.

But please. Don’t take it personal.

It’s not you.

It’s me.

Bubblegum Pie

March 4th, 2010 § 1

Forgive me, I’m cheesy. It’s the pink, it just gets in your veins and your brain and it’s all over your skin and then you’re happy and laughing and having a good time and not bitching and complaining  and sourpussed like yesterday (I blame the grey).

And I know that you’re all just dying inside because you haven’t seen the Duck’s Ass yet, so please- relax and enjoy the show:

But why, Zoë– why?? Why do they call it a Duck’s Ass?

Oh well gee, that’s because it looks just like one!

NUH UH!

Oh, yes huh.

And that’s the top of the pomp. I basically just do the same thing as the DA, but on a larger scale (comb comb comb into middle. fluff. repeat.) Except the pomp is done upside down- whoaaaaaaaaaa.

And that’s the unit from the side. It does, however, manage to get taller by the day’s end. It cares not what I want. It is very selfish.

Bottom Up:

Shoes: Target

Dress: Thrifted

(This is a wonderful dress. It is the perfect bubblegum color, with bubblegum buttons, and a very thin treatment of beige piping along the collar and arm holes. Arm holes? Anyway, I got it at the same ARC that had the grody couch we almost bought. Why must I repeatedly bring that up?!)

Cardigan: Thrifted Target

(Yeah, I wear it all the time. Get over it.)

Scent: GAP Grass

(I think I had an adult tantrum when they discontinued this. You can imagine my excitement when they brought it back. It irritates my sinuses and sometimes makes me barf in my mouth a little, but what’s a little sacrifice for some sweet, sweet nostalgia?)

Nails: Clear

(Anything else would have offended the dress.)

And let’s just all assume that you know where my jewelry came from.

So, today is working out nicely.

How can it not, though, when you have all the ingredients for a delicious bubblegum pie??!

Grace Jones Kelly

March 4th, 2010 § 0

This was yesterday. I have been utterly buried at work, and so things are kind of day-late, dollar-short this week. Let’s all think happy, yellow and pink thoughts about the (abbreviated) weekend.

Bottom Up:

Shoes: Payless

(We’ve been over this. Even though I just typed out a paragraph about them anyway. It’s been deleted.)

HIGH Waist Trousers: Common Era

(Common Era only exists in Boulder and Denver. It is a great boutique that sells really sharp clothing at even sharper prices. They also have all sorts of little handmade trinkets and items from the locals. Annnnnnd, they sell Seychelles. Ah yes, these were on Clearance, too: $18!!)

Grey Dolman Top: Forever 21

(I love a good Dolman. I find it extremely flattering. Plus, the Dolman with the tight pants really puts the Jones in my Grace.)

Necklace: Thrifted

(Obvi)

Gigantaring: Forever21

(Never ever ever buy cheap rings. Unless, that is, you have a bottle of clear nail polish at home. Brilliant.)

And, that my friends, was yesterday.

And again, holla Lo-Mob.

Bluesday

March 3rd, 2010 § 0

This was yesterday.

It was a bad day from the start, as you can read below because my posts are really out of order.

I was in no mood for pictures, smiling, or general happiness.

Bottom Up:

Shoes: Payless

(This is one of the few cheap pairs of shoes I own that are not extremely painful. And they, too, assist me in my Spring delusions. I’ve worn them a lot recently.)

Leggings: Target

(You can’t really see them because I wasn’t really caring at the time, but they are a greyish mauveish taupeish? Kind of an odd color, but they have three cute buttons on the ankles.)

Skirt: Forever21

(Very recent purchase. Some buyers remorse as it is way too short to wear with nothing underneath. Ah, well- lace bike shorts: here I come!)

Belt: Thrifted Anne Klein

(Got this little item this weekend at the ARC with the ugly couch that almost came home with us.)

Shirt: Target?

(I’m not entirely sure on this. I’ve had this item for years.)

Necklace: Thrifted

(Yeah, yeah. You know.)

And that’s that. No details. No fun stuff.

Just me and a pompadour and a really bad attitude.

Where am I?
