Meditate in my direction

Sometimes, even when it’s one of the few nice days in a long time, it just feels good to wear dark, dark grey/black from head to toe. Simple, sexy, no-fuss.

Bottom Up:

Sam Edelman Zoe Boots: Gift

(Maybe the best gift ever received? I died a million times on Christmas. Thank you, babe!)

Jeans: No clue

(These, literally, could have come from anywhere. But most likely a Marshall’s, or something of that nature)

Wifebeater: Target

Long sleeve: Target?

(I imagine this came from target, but cotton things with sleeves kind of all blend together in my memory)

Belt: Thrifted

(Anne Klein belt from the other ARC)

Earrings: Etsy

(While I am happy with the earrings, the service on this purchase totally sucked. So, unfortunately, they aren’t getting promoted here in the parenthesis. But they’re real butterfly wings. And I’m sure if you searched for that on Etsy you would find them.)

Overall, this was a good day. And I managed to feel like both Sandra D AND Danny Zuko at the same time.

And that, my friends, is freaking amazing.

Carte Blanche

It was my attempt to step into this week as unassumingly as possible. Neutral.

I did not want to awake the First Week of March from its monster slumber. I bid you good riddance. March.

I do, however, think it worked!

Ahhh, yesterday went swimmingly. As did today. As will tonight and tomorrow and Thursday and Friday. I can’t wait.

And I even tried a new ‘do!

Well, new to me anyway…

And I wore a pair of shoes you haven’t seen!

And I made a silly pose!

Bottom Up:

Shoes: Dolce Vita

(I got these for a very specific, very important, yearly Christmas Party. They outdid themselves. And yes, I know they are complete YSL rip-offs. Maybe that’s why I bought them. Hmpf.)

Cords: Thrifted Abercrombie

(I know what you’re thinking. I thought the same thing. But then I thought, $5 for great-fitting corduroys? Of course.)

Blouse: Forever21

(I guess it’s a blouse. I like it.)

Cardigan: Thrifted Target

(Indeed)

Necklace: Thrifted

(Indeed, aussi)

Thank you, second week of March, for giving me another chance.

Wish I had a Walkers

Everybody here is out of sight

On our way to brunch with friends and Wii and mimosas and lots of goodness. Wish us luck- we’re late!!

Anyone a 5.5?

I know I know I know I know I know

Let’s all have a time out and reflect on how absolutely awful and ridiculous the first week of March was.

Much better. Moving on.

Well, in all honestly- how can I move on? I haven’t even told you about how I got to get up super duper early and take this guy to the airport. This is typically not an event that would drive one to tears. HOWEVER. As it is The First Week of March, terrible things were destined to happen.

Such as:

1. Beginning last night with a multi-hour search for Ryan’s wallet. It was in the car.
2. Getting up early because I’m a crankypants
3. Running late (per usual)
4. Saying good-bye (awww!)
5. Then heading to work and realizing:
6. Past E on gas
7. No smokes
8. $6 only
9. Fuck! This is the wrong exit!
10. Trying to get back on the road going the correct way
11. Having to drive ALL THE WAY BACK TO THE AIRPORT (which, for those of you not in my ‘hood, is one big stretch of nothing for a whhhhile)
12. Spilling coffee on my (silk) blouse
13. Finally getting home to get a few things, and in turn really offending Duncan somehow- so much so, that he bit my hand bloody on the way out the door (dick).

All in all, I guess it worked itself out. And here I am, days end, sharing it with you.

So I obviously made it through.

But, I will say- that since today is (casual) Friday, I am going to be really lax and groovy and not breakdown today’s outfit. Maybe next Friday, maybe no Fridays.

Certainly not this Friday.

But please. Don’t take it personal.

It’s not you.

It’s me.
