Love that guitar. It sounds so tuned.

Well, well, well.

I don’t know about you guys, but this guy and I just celebrated.

Our four year anniversary.

Yeah. Holy cow.

Maybe that’s why everything is soft and pink and red.

Hi Duncan.

Sure.

You can be in my photo.

The status of fashion

April 14th, 2010 § 5

So again, I am essentially a brand new baby when it comes to blog-land.

I have followed many, peeked in on many, and then essentially hid.

However, now that the times are a’changing, I have a few things to say.

The first of those things is:

meggstatus.

Until maybe two weeks ago {give or take} I found out about and joined Chictopia.

It is truly amazing.

Not only is it an entire community dedicated to street fashion {I guess that’s what it’s called?}, but it is the most glorious land of inspiration you could imagine.

Mainly, because of folks like meggstatus.

Don’t get me wrong.

I love a real, shiny, expensive, drolly high-fashion mag/blog/what-have-you.

But what seriously gets my blood hot is ladies {and gentlemen, ahem} who are absolute thrift-masters.

True artists.

It’s not as easy as a trend. It’s not as easy as a mall. It’s not as easy an Olsen Twin.

It’s really fucking hard.

But it is the most rewarding thing (in my opinion) to find even one absolute treasure on a day of thrifting.

And that’s still not even half the battle.

Looking at a closet full of items from different people, lifetimes, decades, and countries can be so overwhelming when it comes to putting together something that is cohesive, comfortable, and not flat-out disgusting or tacky.

It can also take a toll on your editing skills. It is an easy temptation to just try everything. All at once.

And meggstatus has perfected the art.

Fortunately, places like Chictopia, Weardrobe, Lookbook.nu, and just all of our blogs in general {essentially: the world wide web. Thanks, 1996.} remind us how amazing it truly is to not only be thrifty, but incredibly chic, inspirational, stylish, lovely, rule-breaking sons of bitches.

So cheers to us.

And cheers to you, meggstatus.

Ah, what a beautiful day in the neighborhood.

The sun is begging us to wear our neon shoes.

We abide.

Bottom Up:

Shoes: Macys

(These were brought to me in part by the letter ‘Gift Card’. They’re Kensie Girl, and they’re tennis ball yellow. This is their first time out of the box.)

Grey Jeans: Forever21

Big blue blouse: Thrifted

Very simple today. The loud shoe needs no accessories. And I was really distracted this morning for no reason at all. I couldn’t even stand still in my pictures.

Cheers to you, Hump Day.

Fancy-free and free for anything fancy

April 13th, 2010 § 4

I’m trying to break myself of certain habits and not always stay in my comfort zone.

Exposing my ears like this, with my hair back- is a big, fat, ridiculous fear of mine.

As you may have noticed, they’re always either covered with fabric, or I have chops to distract you from the open doors on the side of my head.

So forgive me. I’m nervous.

Bottom Up:

Bandolino Boots: Thrifted

Green silk shorts: Forever21

Brown leather belt: Thrifted

Baby blue poly: Thrifted

Hot orange necklace: Thrifted

Headband: Walgreens, most likely

Oh, weekend. You always leave so soon.

I am saddened.

But on a much brighter note: Friday night, this guy and I went to a party at Forest Room 5, sponsored by my favorite online store \ blog \ fashion porn site, Modcloth.

(OMG, yes! Modcloth!!)

It was amazing to meet some of the bloggers, like Sarah! And they had trinkets and food and drinks and TRIVIA.

Something hilarious just happened

April 8th, 2010 § 1

As some of you may or may not know, I am just getting started with my blog.

In fact, just at the very beginning of this week I had this guy install stats to my dashboard.

Well, someone found me.

How, how did they find me??

They googled “painting on shrooms”.

And this is what they found.

I hope their painting came out ok. Psilocybin is a hell of a drug.
