So now you’re back. From outer space.

Well, well, well.

Look who came flying back.

It has been a month or more since we last saw Joe, but yesterday’s outstanding weather brought him back for an early dinner and a good night’s sleep.

What a fairweather-bird-friend.

But he sure is handsome!

Welcome back, Joe.

I’ll let you be in my dream if I can be in yours

Wow.

Sunday we (Duncan, Ryan, and I) went to my Dad’s house for some delicious dinner.

He had recently returned from a business/pleasure trip to Chicago where Peggy, his best friend and coolest lady on Earth, resides.

She does what I wish I could do for a living (thrift, essentially).

Together, they found me a vintage 1970′s Givenchy button up. With a motherfucking matching bandana. And it couldn’t fit more perfectly.

It is. Amazing.

You will. See it again.

Bottom Up:

Shoes: Urban Outfitters

(Just got these on Saturday. I think they need to be worn with thick wool socks around the house first. Ow.)

Jeans: Forever21

(Yup. Another great pair of jeans that cost less than $20.)

Vintage Givenchy blouse: Gift

(Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.)

Real Butterfly Wing Earrings: Etsy

(These were like 6 for the price of 2, so I have a few…)

And again: Thank you.

Dreaming about it.

Bottom Up:

Shoes: Bakers

(This is and was my first and only Baker’s shoe purchase. While the shoes kill my feet, the customer service was outstanding and I won’t forget that.)

Jeans: Forever21

(Seriously guys: buy your jeans at Forever21. These were no more than $20 and they are sturdy, comfy, good lookin’, and did I mention they were less than $20? New.)

Button up: GAP

(The bust on this is ridiculously small, so it gapes between buttons and pretty much has to be worn with a tie. But I can dig that.)

Cardigan: TJMAXX

(Yes. You’ve seen it before, and will again.)

Belt: Thrifted Anne Klein

(This is proving itself to be a very good purchase. Nicely done, me.)

Tie: Thrifted, gifted, and burlged

(I frequently come home with thrifted trinkets for Ryan. I also frequently wear said trinkets myself. So what.)

Ok, so all day today I’ve felt like someone else (not literally, but just like, “gee- who do I remind myself of today?” kind of feelings…) and I was pretty convinced that it was some sort of ventriloquist’s dummy. Not quite pinocchio or a marionette- but just a dummy.

Kind of cartoony?

{Creepy sidenote: this image was found on a site called unusualphobias.com. Odd, right?}

And then

in the last

few minutes of the day,

it hit me:

I’m David Brent.

And although today I did not resemble the world’s most handsome man, it did make me feel both honored, and really hilarious.

Especially because getting this shot took nearly 15 times.

So please, enjoy.

Oh no. Oh yes.
