Haven’t had that Spirit here since 1969
August 2nd, 2010 § 15
Good Morning.
It’s Monday.
At least this Monday follows a very lovely weekend.
Relaxing, simple, fun.
We did a lot of laughing this weekend.
That actually may have been all we did.
Anyone else a ginormous diptych fan?
Can I get a show of hands?
Thanks, me too.

And some interesting/weird/awesome news came to me in the form of a comment yesterday (although, I actually didn’t see it until this morning).
Bryce said, “Wow!!! I just saw you on the Gap website! Congrats. That’s amazing!!!“
And I was like, “Bryce, wtf are you talking about? No way am I on the GAP website!!! Don’t get people’s hopes up like that!!!“
I’m sorry I yelled at you Bryce.
You were totally right.
And it is amazing:
I guess their newest campaign for their 1969 Jeans includes a 1969 Stream (requires Flash), that seems to be an endless collage of denim inspiration from all over the world.
I think?
And as you can see my mock-up came from like.com, which is also totally bizarre because that’s a place I’ve never been to. Ever.
So, I obviously took a little visit, and apparently I am on their front page!
(except I wasn’t wearing jeggings….)
So, I guess my question obviously has a couple wtf’s in there because had it not been for miss Bryce, I literally would have absolutely no idea that I was floating around these intarnetz.
AND
IT’S TOTALLY A BOLOMANIA OUTFIT!
Bolomania is taking over the world.

The Guest of Honor

YOW.
Where have I been??
Picking up Merl’s slack, that’s where!
And although the opinion is bias, I highly recommend reading her biography that I wrote.
It’s one of the best things I’ve ever read in my entire life.
A new classic.
And it features Chuck Norris and Danny Bonaduce so don’t tell me you’re not fucking insanely curious.
Les Enfants Sur La Table
July 23rd, 2010 § 13
Well.
It seems as though I created quite a bit of confusion yesterday by claiming “a new haircut, of sorts”.
All I meant was that I did a slight redesign of the blog.
That is all.
I apologize.
Moving forward:
I have a terrible headache and not much to say.
All of the things I want to say contain many expletives.
And you don’t need to be hearing that.
But indeed,
the time has come.
It’s Friday.
Who knows what would happen if it weren’t.
And to be honest: I took the scarf off.
And switched to a black blazer.
I’m just a mess today.
I should have worn sweats and played hooky.
If only…

So friends, let’s all have the most restful, mind-calming, meditative weekends of our lives.
Eh?
Cow Town

Whoa.
Who’s that tall lady?
Oh gee, that’s me.
I had this guy crouch because I realized that his stature is makin’ me look small.
This was taken last.
Typically, I keep things in chronological order.
Just thought I’d start out with a bit of a bang today.
See?
That angle makes my legs look smushed.
It’s proportionately incorrect.
So, I’ll probably have to buy him a chair.
The lazy photog.
Ha.
My hair is being strange today.
OH YEAH!
I wanted to tell you that I’m very excited for the weekend because that guy bought us tickets to the Riverfront Park Fashion Show (Sarah, are you aware of this? Are you going?) which will be featuring designs by none other than a certain Miss Betsey Johnson. And Sue Wong.
Huwuuh???!!!!
Yes.
So, Mr. Man sprung the big guns and got us Catwalk Seats!
And you shall hear all about it.

The Bottom of a Top

Halfway through the week.
Take that, week.
Sunny again.
Hasn’t been sunny for a while.
Still cool, though- which is very nice.
Thinking about a trip to the thrift for lunch.
Care to join me?
Hm.
I guess I don’t really have a lot to say this morning.
Not
too
much
goin’
on.
Can you see the actual print of the dress, though?
It’s a large, general zebra print.
With teeny tiny zebras in it!
Double whammy!

Also, I thought it was very awesome when my Full House Cirlce day (yesterday) ended up coming full circle itself.
At the very end of the day I got this email:
DJ Tanner.
Allllright!
